A large crowd witnessed the start of the 41st International Cycling Classic, also known as Superweek even though this week is 17 days long. Riders from across the USA as well as Germany, Australia, South Africa, and Puerto Rico are present. As expected, it was a fast pace right from the gun with 15 riders gaining a lap by half distance and later, 11 more escaped further up the road. In the end, it was Aussie Bernie Sulzberger (Fly V Australia) who took the win. Indianapolis rider Chad Barzilauskas (Kenda) took second, and last year's overall Superweek winner, Johnny Cantwell (Fly V Australis) took third.
